Alexander Thomas Wood

Hi! I’m Alexander, a senior at Brown. I am most passionate about finance, entrepreneurship, and philosophy.

Since placing my first trades and coming up with my first business ideas in high school, I’ve realized the importance of learning, self-reflection, and steady improvement in my quest to satisfy my endless desire to grow. Though those trades and ideas might not have been the best, I’m proud to say I’ve come a long way since then, and I am laser-focused on making the most of compounding the next stages of my success.

At Brown, I’ve complemented my study of Applied Mathematics-Economics with courses across varied fields including computer science, German, history, public policy, and corporate law.

Outside of class I pursued my interests mainly through the Brown Investment Group and Quantitative Trading at Brown, where I reached Sector Head and Head of Operations respectively. That said, I probably had the most fun with either the Brown Poker Club or the Brown Ballroom Dancing Team.

When not working, you might find me hiking, skiing, playing piano/guitar, or reading.
